Welcome To Greenwich Village
Greenwich Village, or ‘The Village’ to some, is a neighborhood with a split personality – the northern part being pretty quiet and the southern, with its New York University student activity, can be boisterously fun. The Village is perhaps the most centrally-located neighborhood in New York. If you choose to live here, you'll be able to walk, in under 20 minutes, to hundreds of restaurants and bars, scores of movie and off-Broadway theaters, countless shops and boutiques, not to mention the Hudson River esplanade, Washington Square Park, Union Square , and other landmark locations.
Further south of NYU are the lost-in-time streets of Sullivan, Bleecker, Thompson et al with their comedy and jazz clubs, vinyl record shops, “head” shops, Italian coffee shops, and oddball stores. Blink and it’s like walking in a place from decades ago.
Greenwich Village is a beloved mix of the best that New York has to offer. With its tree-lined streets of brownstones along what has been called “The Gold Coast,” The Village still retains a sense of small-town neighborhood yet also practically buzzes with youth.
